SAMPLE TIMELINE
This is what you can expect a final timeline to look like. As a reminder, this is strictly a āsampleā for reference. We will create a custom timeline based on the information you provide us when we send out our āWedding Day Questionnaireā about two months before your wedding. Most couples book me for 8 hours, so I went ahead and curated this based off of my most popular collection. For couples who have me 10 hours, I typically add the additional hours to the beginning of the day or break it up to add one additional hour before the ceremony and one additional hour after the ceremony.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
About 2 months before the wedding I send a āBefore the Weddingā questionnaire via email, and about 1.5 months prior is when we will start the initial timeline and make any tweaks from there.
-
I suggest having your ceremony start anywhere from 4:00p - 5:00p, especially if you are having an outdoor ceremony. The later the ceremony allows for a more relaxed timeline with photos so you donāt need to be stressing to get everything done in time before early guests arrive!
-
I really try my best to have an assistant/second shoot secured for your day. I typically work with the same second shooter but if she is unavailable I prepare myself and know a wonderful community of photographers who can always jump in to help!
Like any other job, things come up and if anyone is sick or has a family matter last minute I will not expect them to show up.
I have been doing this for 1o years now and feel more than capable of photographing a day by myself if need be.
*No refunds will be given as any hired help is hired out as an independent contractor and is money out of my pocket.

Here is the amount of time I suggest for each portion of the day:
Getting ready photos: 1-2 hours
First Look: 1 hour (this includes the first look along with couples portraits)
Wedding Party: 45 Minutes
Family: 30 minutes
Any other aspect of the day is hard to put a time stamp on due to the nature of that portion and event happening. After the ceremony I take a step back and let you mingle, or simply have a quiet moment alone.
Itās important to also make sure we set time aside so I can photograph reception details before any guests get into the space, and so you can see what it looked like all decorated before anyone was able to claim their spot!

First looks are my favorite! I love when couples set aside this private moment to see each other for the first time! I really do think they are a lot more emotional and intimate instead of waiting to see each other for the ceremony.
Often times I have noticed the pressure of having an audience really holds back emotions, depending on your demeanor. So really think of that. For someone who has been shooting weddings and been a bride myselfā¦.one of the moments I remember most is my first look and that moment I had with my groom. It truly was my favorite part of my wedding day.
Having a first look also allows to have more time in your day to enjoy it. Getting those must-have photos rather than squeezing hours of photos into an hour or two is usually best.
-
I leave that part of the day very open in case things are running behind due to hair and makeup. Plus, factor in getting dressed, letter reading, final touch ups, etc.
I also photograph other details during the getting ready portion. Details include your invitation suite, rings, other jewelry, shoes, vow books, cuff links, etc.
Time really does add up so I definitely do recommend having anywhere from 1.5-2 hours for getting ready photos.
-
Based off of the weddings I have photographed, most couples have Dinner services starting anywhere from 6:00p to 6:30p.
-
8:00p is pretty standard for wedding dances or bands to begin.
I suggest relaying all important aspects of your reception timeline to your DJ 1-2 weeks before the wedding so they can keep the evening running along smoothly.
I would also set expectations of what is expected of your DJ. Some DJās really sit back and let the photographer or day of coordinator do the work. If you donāt have a day- of coordinator it truly is the DJās responsibility to keep the guests informed, and keep this portion of the evening flowing smoothly. I will definitely be in contact with your DJ but want to stress it should be the DJās responsibility to do the MC work and follow the timeline respectfully to ensure we get the must-have photos you requested from me.
All in allā¦make sure your DJ isnāt afraid to speak up! ;)

Honeybook is my private client workflow program where I keep track and organize all information. This is a platform available to my clients as well. You will be asked to create a login and will be able to revisit all important documents, emails, questionnaires, etc.

I get this email a lot. I donāt usually begin timeline planning until about 2 months before the wedding. Relay that to your hair and makeup artists and that youāll know more details at that time. I donāt like to do timeline planning any earlier due to final details coming together. You can use the sample timeline provided to get a rough estimate as to when photos will start. A typical time for photo coverage to begin is anywhere from 10:30a-12:30p.
Hair and Makeup can really set the the expectations of the overall timeline. Please make the necessary accommodations with them to prepare the right amount of time for getting ready. They are also professionals and have most likely been doing this awhile to know the amount of time they will need in order to set your day up to go smoothly as well.

Final payment is due exactly one month before your wedding date. You will receive a final invoice via email so check your inbox around that time.

We typically send sneak peaks within a week of your session. If we are traveling for a session then it may take a bit longer.
We cater to many couples and try to make everyone happy but please know that the process of backing up, sorting photos, etc. takes time as well! We appreciate your patience so much and know everyone is anxious to see their photos!
-
I pride myself in editing all of my galleries. Some photographers outsource their editing and that is not my jam.
Wedding galleries typically take anywhere from 10-14 weeks depending on when you get married. If you get married in the Months of May-October galleries will definitely take the full amount. We do not factor in weekends for work days as we are typically shooting weddings and enjoying family time.
Engagement Galleries typically take a bout 6 weeks (again depending on the time of year)
We relay any delays on to you!
-
We will not cater to any specific requests from specific family members for sneak peaks. We try to send as many sneak peaks as we can but we also have other galleries that we are editing before.
-
I do not.

Details to Bring on Your Wedding Day
Tip:
Have all of your details set aside in a box, bag, container, etc. and ready for me to photograph. Bring any ring boxes, and heirloom pieces to include.
Ask your florist to leave a little floral fluff, which I can use to add some pretty dimension to your detail images.
